Nike hit the nail on the head with its Nike Tech line, now featuring this Woven CORDURA® Jacket that’s perfect for the unexpected.
If you haven’t experienced the brilliance of CORDURA®, you’re in for a real treat. First developed in the 1920s by DuPont for use in military tires, the high-tenacity nylon-based fabric evolved a bit in the ‘60s when it started becoming more common in things like motorcycle apparel, hiking gear, and luggage, due to its lightweight nature and abrasion and water resistance. Nike is a big fan as well, which is why you’ll find it in the brand’s jackets, pants, and even shoes from time to time.
For the Tech Jacket you see here, Nike uses a jacquard weave CORDURA® that incorporates a digital camo pattern and has plenty of style even before you consider its utility. Boasting water-repellant tech for rainy days, the jacket also features a four-panel hood and a small brim. It locks into place with a bungee cord cinch, while a built-in face mask below provides extra coverage below and metal mesh grommets for breathability. When you’re not using it, you simply secure it with snap buttons to keep it out of the way. Despite the extra coverage, however, you’ll still get solid range of motion thanks to the articulated elbows and pleated back.
For storage, the coat features an array of pockets, including two zippered compartments at the waist, to large compartments at the chest equipped with a gear loop, and even a pocket in back. For anyone looking for their next rainy-weather EDC jacket, this is a great option.
