For the first 13 years of Nike’s Air Jordan, MJ’s signature shoe had not ventured off the hardwood at all. Then, with the official debut of Jordan Brand as a separate entity in 1997, the Swoosh was finally getting ready for the first-ever Jordan cross-trainer (and one of the industry’s first hybrid runners): the Trunner. On a technical level, these sneakers featured a slip-on design with a midfoot strap that kept you locked in when running or lifting weights. Visually, the multi-fabric uppers gave the new Jordans an original look that was unlike anything the brand had made thus far. Available in several different iterations over the years, the Jordan Trunner is now back with a faithful recreation featuring a few modern updates.

Available in four colorways, including a streetwear-friendly Light Orewood Brown and a stealthy all-black, the new Jordan Trunner brings the ‘90s cross-trainer into 2025 while still keeping the original Trunner’s spirit alive. Simply put, these will be the most stylish training shoes you’ll find.

The low profile is complemented with a relatively chunky sole, inside of which houses a responsive foam midsole that favors comfort, whether you’re wearing these all day or just for a quick gym session. For sturdy midfoot support, you still get the Jordan branded cage in the way of the molded plastic support wings, featuring the same grooved design that leads up to the laces to lock them in. The uppers here combine breathable mesh and suede for a dynamic look and serious flexibility.

This time around, the plush tongue and collar are given some padding that makes them comfortable around your ankle, while aiding you with putting these on and taking them off. Meanwhile, the rubber outsole will help you with grip and agility.
