Penned by legendary sneaker designer Tinker Hatfield, the Air Jordan 4 first debuted in 1989 and has gone on to garner an iconic status that’s managed to stand the test of time like very few others. Famously worn by MJ when he hit “The Shot” over Craig Ehlo, the Air Jordan 4 was initially offered in just four color ways, though the shoe’s continued popularity has ultimately prompted the footwear brand to deliver an ever-growing number of AJ IV models — the latest of which to break cover is the newly-unveiled Air Jordan 4 Craft “Olive.”

The Air Jordan 4 Craft “Olive” maintains the original 1989 model’s exact silhouette and distinctive triangular support wings and heel pulls, while gaining a new military-inspired color scheme that’s been brought to life using more premium constructions. The shoe’s uppers and overlays are composed of a combination of forest green suede and OD green leather. These earth tones have been complemented via period-correct Flight tongue labels, matching OD green laces, a black leather wing support, and semi-transparent black wings and heel pull tabs. Interestingly, the AJ4 Craft “Olive” also jettisons the regular model’s over-molded mesh paneling in favor of mesh-inspired waffle-style side panels.

Inside, the AJ4 Craft “Olive” boasts a blacked-out padded interior collar and a matching set of black insoles decorated in muted lime Jumpman logos. The heels of the sneakers have also been adorned with 3D Jumpman logos in the same muted lime hue. The entire shoe is built atop a set of outsoles executed in a combination of off-white, black, cream, and grayish green. These changes collectively give these Air Jordans a more modern feel, without compromising the character, silhouette, and design that have made the AJ4s so popular in the first place.

Available in Men’s sizes 7 through 18, the Air Jordan 4 Craft “Olive” is available now with pricing set at $210 — and just like with previous special AJ4 releases, we anticipate the Craft “Olive” variant to sell out extremely fast.
