From music to television and virtually anything entertainment-related in between, Donald Glover’s talent has no bounds. The world-famous actor, rapper, comedian, and creator has even dipped his toes in the world of footwear, previously having collabed with adidas. Now, having moved on from his deal with the Three Stripes, Glover has partnered with New Balance on a sleek pair of streamlined kicks.
The low-profile RC30 silhouette garners inspiration from classic New Balance racing runners. The shoe sits on a head-turning rippled tread outsole, which comes courtesy of the shoemaker’s classic Trackster shoe, ultimately coming together for a blend of comfort and authenticity. Both the outsole and midsole are curved, making for a streamlined pair of shoes perfect for everyday wear.
As far as style is concerned, the shoe’s breathable nylon upper is touched up with suede overlays for a luxurious touch. It comes available in two stylish colorways appropriately dubbed “Sea Salt” and “Golden Hour.” The former is a predominantly white shoe finished off with cream-colored accents and a rounded blue ‘N’ logo, while the latter is a mustard shade of yellow accented by hints of burgundy and a white logo.
As a promotion for his partnership with New Balance, Glover released an animated teaser acknowledging the collab, proving that a touch of creativity goes into everything he does. The collaborative RC30 is available on New Balance’s webshop now for $120.
