Mark Gonzales doesn’t require much of an introduction. As one of the world’s most prolific skaters, the pioneer of his sport has worked with adidas in the past, but this new release strays down a different path from what we’ve come to expect from their partnership. Upon coming together for a collaborative pair of UltraBoosts, the Gonz shows that he’s adept at putting his stamp on anything.
Keep in mind that the shoes are not actually intended for skating, but Gonzales says that “people who skate like a comfy shoe when they’re not skating,” and that’s not very hard to believe. The Gonz’s signature Shmoo characters have dressed up the three stripe’s garments in the past, and now they’re making their way to footwear.
As expected, the shoe sits on adidas’ proprietary full-length BOOST midsole, ensuring maximum comfort whether you’re at the skate park, biking to work, or going on a run. The true highlight here is the shoes’ eye-catching, multi-weave primeknit upper that is coated in a variety of colors and rounded out with a pair of neon laces to choose from.
