Iron & Resin’s Rambler Is the Made-in-USA Waxed Canvas Jacket That Refuses to Go Out of Style

Fifteen years ago, Thom Hill and a few of his friends felt obligated to launch Iron & Resin after noticing there was a lack of a personal touch in the modern clothing market. Imbuing each piece with the spirit of their local blue-collar beach town of Ventura, CA, the clothier has been putting modern spins on heritage staples ever since. Like any company, the early days were filled with trial, error, and perseverance. But it was the debut of its Rambler Jacket in 2013 — the first cut-and-sew piece officially developed by the brand — that established the blueprint for everything else they made from then on.

The Rambler is still a mega-hit today, and for good reason. Getting the much-coveted “Made in the USA” stamp, the jacket was initially inspired by Lee’s ‘60s-era Storm Rider Denim Jackets worn by the likes of Steve McQueen and Paul Newman, but designed with a 1:1 balance of style and function, whether you’re cruising on your motorcycle or heading to dinner Friday night.

Designed to get better with age, the Rambler starts with a 10.5-oz Carr Textile waxed canvas shell available in Oil Tan, Black, and Oak Brown colorways. It’s contrasted with a 14-wale corduroy fabric on the collar, which has also been used for the inner cuffs and front placket flap. The front sports four pockets, including two hand pockets at the waist and a pair of chest compartments with shank button flaps. There’s also one on the inside, stitched with Iron & Resin’s Anchor Flag patch. Down the front is a UCAN zippered closure.

Not complacent with their design, Iron & Resin has continued to test the Rambler in real-world conditions to ensure that it’s arguably the finest motorcycle jacket on the planet.

Priced at $325, the Rambler Jacket is available now from Iron & Resin’s website.
