While Iron & Resin’s Rambler Jacket and the Klamath Flannel may get a lot of attention for their undeniable style and relentless construction. But we’d be remiss if we didn’t shine a spotlight on some of the clothier’s more utilitarian pieces, such as its Fatigue Pant, which puts a refined spin on a military classic.

Who Is Iron & Resin?

After noticing an absence of personal touch in modern clothing options, Thom Hill and some of his friends set up shop in 2011, launching Iron & Resin in Ventura, CA. Since then, they’ve been imbuing heritage staples with the spirit of the blue-collar beach town from which they hail. Notoriety grew with the launch of the Rambler a couple years later (their first cut-and-sew piece developed in-house), and since then they’ve become a cult favorite of anyone who knows quality when they see it.

Military History Through a Modern Lens

While they’ve only been around for 15 years, Iron & Resin sure has a firm grasp on their history. Introduced in 1952, the OG-107 (Olive Green 107) trousers were the U.S. military’s standard utility uniform (aka “fatigues”) all the way through the early ‘80s. Becoming an emblem of the Cold War and Vietnam eras, the pants were originally designed by the 1949 Army Uniform Board to be durable and versatile. Since then, everyone from field workers to streetwear enthusiasts have adopted the style, remade by several notable brands. But this version from Iron & Resin is the perhaps most thoughtfully designed we’ve seen.

A Refined Classic

Just like the originals, the Fatigue Pant — available in Army Green, Khaki, and Charcoal — features simple rectangular patch pockets in front and a pair of button-flap compartments in the back. The closure is your standard button fly with zipper. For attaching a wallet, keys, or even a small tech pouch, the D-ring on the rear belt loop offers a subtle but elevated upgrade on the military trousers.

The pants are constructed from 100% Bedford cord cotton, which is naturally stretchy and soft for everyday wear, yet rugged and moisture-wicking for more demanding tasks. If you’re a fan of the brand’s Brigade Pant, the Fatigue is very similar but sports a more relaxed fit.
