Originally commissioned by BF Goodrich in the 1950s to aid local fishermen in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest, Xtratuf is easily one of the foremost experts when it comes to non-slip footwear for wet terrain and slush. The company is still at it today, when deck boots have found broader use, especially when you’re traversing a city sidewalk in the rain or generally prefer to remain upright when the ground is wet. Xtratuf has now partnered with online retailer Huckberry on an exclusive new edition on the Legacy Elevate Deck Boot, available in two new colorways.

Based on those original 15” Legacy Boots (aka The Alaskan Sneaker) worn by Alaskan fishermen for the past seven-plus decades, the new Legacy Elevate are highly supportive yet lightweight, made from a triple-dipped latex neoprene material that’s flexible and incredibly durable. Co-branding from Xtratuf and Huckberry can be found at the top of the upper and on both the front and rear ankle loops. Also, the boots come in two colorways: a versatile Brown/Cream and a more assertive Moss/Olive.

With the lower deck height, the collar comes right up to your ankles so that you can still move easily, whether you’re literally swabbing the deck or simply going about town. Likewise, the boots are 100% waterproof so you don’t have to stress about soaked socks when it’s wet out. Underfoot, a cushioned insole keeps things comfy, especially with the sneaker-like arch support that many deck boots won’t give you.
Xtratuf’s signature slip-resistant Chevron pattern is featured on the outsole for ultimate footing on even the wettest surfaces. The Chevron outsoles have been a hallmark of the brand’s boots since the beginning and are still just as useful today.

Priced at $180, the Huckberry x Xtratuf Legacy Elevate Deck Boot is available exclusively from Huckberry’s web store.
