With each new Hoka release, we seem to be so hyper-focused on the new tech that we fail to recognize how stylish the brand’s shoes have become. Well, this week, the footwear firm just dropped two Stealth/Tech editions of its Bondi 8 Caged and Tecton X 2 models.

Both Stylish and Functional
Previously available with models like the Clifton 9 and Speedgoat 5, the Stealth/Tech collection is designed for versatility, not just in construction but style. Taking a look at the pair of running shoes, Hoka has now labeled the Stealth/Tech versions of the Bondi 8 Caged and Tecton X 2 as “Lifestyle” shoes. And we can see why.

Hoka Stealth/Tech Running Shoes
New features on the Bondi 8 Caged include the nature-inspired umber colorway, “mixed pellet” camo outsoles, and a translucent effect on the cage that goes over the grid textile. Hoka also added utilitarian reflective details for running at night. These visual differences go along with the road runner’s already impressive lightweight foam midsole that’s known for its maximum cushioning and zonal rubber placement for shaving weight.
As for the Tecton X 2, you’ll instantly notice the darker umber and black colorway, which is a change up to the typically bright colors of the trail-running sneaker. Again, you get the reflective details as with the Bondi 8 Caged above, but you also get a secondary pair of laces that are reflective too. On the uppers, we see the Matryx textil which has now gotten nature-inspired styling cues. To me, this pair reminds me of a camouflaged reptile of sorts but it’s not clear if that was the intention. Underfoot, we still get the Vibram Megagrip outsoles and carbon fiber plating that the Tecton X 2 is known for.
