Like some of the most iconic styles of all time, the Harrington Jacket originally served an actual function before becoming a statement piece later on. Designed as a way for golfers to be able to move while still staying dry when it rained, the coat eventually became mainstream when the likes of JFK and James Dean put it on. Known for its waxed canvas Trucker Jacket and everyday 365 Pant, Flint and Tinder has now decided to put its own spin on the silhouette with the Waxed Harrington Jacket, combining traditional styling with modern construction, all with a preservation of old-school Americana in mind.

Amping up the jacket’s ruggedness, Flint and Tinder tapped Halley Stevensons’ P200 dry finish waxed cotton for the weather-resistant shell. The Scottish mill has been in operation since 1864, where it’s crafted the fabric ever since. No more delicate material at risk of snagging or wear-and-tear. This modern-day Harrington Jacket is built to be an heirloom for you to pass down through the generations.

In terms of function, the coat also gets an upgrade with super-soft cotton microflannel lining to keep you warm during the colder months. It also looks rather classy when you hang the jacket up indoors. A buttoned throat-tab closure provides extra protection when the temperatures really dip or the wind picks up. A YKK zipper is affixed to the front of the jacket, with a classic leather pull attached.
Looks-wise, the Waxed Harrington gets raglan sleeves that button together, an 8-wale corduroy collar, and side-facing button pockets at the waist. You can also adjust the hem with a waist tab in the back. With its refined yet rugged aesthetic, this jacket will go great with your casual weekend attire or a nicer evening out.

Priced at $248, Flint and Tinder’s Waxed Harrington Jacket is available now from Huckberry’s website.
