If you haven’t been turned on to Flint and Tinder yet, you’d better start paying attention. The Huckberry staple always knows how to strike that perfect chord between engineering, ruggedness, and simplicity, all while being guided by the spirit of classic American styles like the trucker jacket or a pair of versatile trousers. Perhaps its most specifically purpose-built piece, the UPF Fishing Shirt is pretty different from the rest of the clothier’s range but that’s kinda why we love it.

Designed to be the perfect companion for a long day on the water, the Fishing Shirt delivers UPF 45-rated protection from the son and a mesh back yoke for ventilation on warmer days. Inspired by vintage fishing shirts, the fabric itself is durable but incredibly lightweight at 115gsm. You get 73% cotton for softness, blended with 23% nylon for durability and water resistance. Meanwhile, when you need to be quick to action, movement shouldn’t be an issue either with a healthy dose of Spandex in the material, along with the aforementioned yoked back.
A thoughtful array of pockets will make it easier than ever to stash the gear you need when fishing, including a pair of buttoned chest flap pockets with eyelets for draining any water that gets inside and an additional left-side pocket for smaller items.

Only five snap buttons were built into the front of the shirt to make this fast and easy to put on when you’re ready to start your day. Also equipped with buttons on the cuffs, the long sleeves give you extra coverage but Flint and Tinder also thought to make them easy to roll up with paracord loops to keep them in place. Because there’s nothing more annoying than rolled sleeves that keep falling down.

Available in light khaki and olive colorways, the UPF Fishing Shirt is priced at $98 from Huckberry’s web store and is just one of the brand’s many items that are part of the Fish Camp collection.
