Upon leaving Vans in 2016, Tyler, the Creator was aiming for more creative control and looked to pull it off in world-famous fashion. Since then, the fashion-forward L.A. native’s ceaseless line with Converse has garnered tons of attention. Now, Tyler’s GOLF WANG label and the Nike subsidiary are putting the color palettes in your hands, allowing fans to customize Converse’s beloved Chuck 70s through the collaborative GOLF WANG By You line.
The Chuck 70 has managed to set itself apart from an average pair of Chuck Taylors thanks to its bolstered cushioning for easy-going comfort. Now, fans of the Grammy-winning artist and his pastel fashion sense can tack these eccentric palettes onto the iconic sneaker for the first time.
There is a wide range of graphics available in the program, including a Thrasher-adjacent GOLF WANG logo and a more playful embellishment that resembles a lasso. Most notably, there are a wide array of colors from which to choose, from cream to green and teal to red and nearly everything in between. One colorful touch that fans of GOLF will appreciate is the brand’s signature polka-dot motif lining each shoe.
With no shortage of sneakers designed by recording artists nowadays, it’s safe to say that none of their silhouettes are as timeless as the Chuck 70 — at least not yet, anyway. Tyler, the Creator and Converse’s GOLF WANG By You line will be available to the public beginning April 28th, with pricing set at $115.
