adidas TERREX’s line of outdoor shoes is often hard to compete with for the price, and its new hikers double down on that sentiment. The outdoor sub-label’s latest addition to its Skychaser series is designed with speed in mind.

The Skychaser GORE-TEX hiking shoes are fit for anything from casual strolls through nature to intense outdoor adventures, as they’re mainly geared toward unpredictable summit scrambles. Its eco-friendly GORE-TEX EPE membrane keeps the shoe breathable and helps regulate temperature while warding off any water. The ripstop upper also has abrasion-resistant overlays for durability’s sake, and a speed lace closure guarantees a precise fit when hitting the trails.
Although you can swap out the speed lacing system for a set of standard shoestrings, these specialized laces can secure shoes on the fly, offering simple adjustability to ensure your foot is locked in place.

For all-day comfort and a feather-light feel, the Skychaser GORE-TEX hiking shoes feature a plush Ortholite sockliner and a LIGHTSTRIKE midsole. The 10mm drop provides reliable heel support, while adidas’ signature Stabile Plate in the midsole keeps your midfoot secure on rugged terrain or during sudden movement changes.
Like most hikers from adidas, the rugged pair sits atop a Continental rubber outsole for tire-like traction in all conditions.
A Sustainable Approach
Since these shoes are designed to help you take on any environment, adidas put its best foot forward to try and protect the ground you walk on. The performance giant makes the most of recycled materials yet again, delivering a pair crafted using at least 20% recycled content as it sheds its reliance on non-renewable resources.
