There’s a lot of factors to consider when purchasing a luxury timepiece. Ideally, you want quality construction and an automatic movement. Swiss-made never hurts, either. REC Watches routinely offers all of these features while frequently throwing in a bit of extra magic to make your watch feel one-of-a-kind. And that’s exactly what the brand has done on the new REC TTT Great Escape.

This limited-edition moto-inspired timepiece features dials made from material that came off of the 1962 Triumph TR6 Trophy 650cc used on-screen in the classic Steve McQueen film The Great Escape. That’s right — you can now wear a piece of one of the most iconic movie motos ever on your wrist. The bike sat neglected in a barn for four decades before being discovered by famed Triumph collector Dick Shepherd, who restored it to its former glory. Shepherd used 95% of the bike’s original parts, but two parts he did replace were the clutch plates and connector rods. REC got their hands on the originals, and they transformed the historic bits into the stunning dials of the TTT Great Escape watch. In addition to the screen-used dials, the watch features several other nods to the bike, including numerous accents in the bike’s dark-green color, wire lugs that mimic the Triumph’s exhaust pipes, a callout to the bike’s license plate on the dial, and a graphic of the headlight on the crown. The watch is powered by a custom-skeletonized SW200-1 movement from Sellita that features a custom rotor inspired by the TR6’s spoked wheels.

REC is making just 393 examples of the TTT Great Escape watch, and they’re priced at $1,995 on the brand’s website. But, just for our readers, you can get a 10% discount if you use code HICONSUMPTION10 when ordering.
