Although it was finally superseded by the F-150 in the ‘80s, Ford’s F-100 was the American automotive maker’s entry-level F-Series pickup truck for over 30 years. And despite having lower towing and hauling capacities compared to its successor, the vehicle has become somewhat beloved in the years since, especially by those who appreciate its importance in helping pave the way for all the half-tons that came after it. Last year, Velocity Restorations gave us the ultimate vintage restomod of the F-250 and has now returned with an F-100 restomod as part of its Signature Series.
Specializing in wrenching on classic cars and trucks, Velocity Modern Classics is a Florida-based outfit that’s won awards for its work. Joining its wide-ranging customizations and restorations is the massively-upgraded vintage Ford F-100, which reimagines the fifth-generation models that were made from the late ‘60s to early ‘70s, featuring larger cabs and more rounded shells compared to the fourth-gen models. With a new front suspension, a completely new drivetrain, and Ford 9” rear axle, the Signature Series F-100 also boasts a Gen III 5.0L Ford Coyote V8 and 10-speed automatic overdrive transmission.
Given a GLASURIT Custom Paint job, Velocity’s upgraded Street Edition of the truck features a two-tone exterior and interior and rides on Forgeline Wheels to go with the Michelin tires. The custom leather interior has been treated with Velocity Exclusive door panels and bench seat, as well as premium dashboard upgrades like Vintage Air A/C, a Bluetooth head unit, Iditit tilt steering, and Dakota Digital gauges. Other upgrades include a Roadstershop chassis, Velocity Custom aluminum fuel tank and stainless steel performance exhaust system, JW Speaker headlights, Baer disc brakes, and Raptor bed liner and undercarriage treatment.
