Triumph’s TXP Electric Kids’ Dirt Bikes Convert from Trails to Trials in Seconds

It’s clear now that Triumph’s acquisition of OSET back in 2022 was a calculated move into a segment the storied British manufacturer had never touched: electric youth bikes. OSET, founded in 2004 by Ian Smith, had already sold over 40,000 electric trials bikes and established itself as the benchmark in the space. Now, after three years of collaboration between OSET’s proven electric platform and Triumph’s engineering prowess, that partnership has produced the TXP range.

Scaled Performance, Real Technology

The TXP lineup consists of four models — TXP-12, TXP-16, TXP-20, and TXP-24 — each designed around age-specific frames and geometry rather than just scaling down adult bikes. The smallest TXP-12 starts at 600W for riders as young as three, while the range-topping TXP-24 delivers 1600W and can handle adults up to 198lbs. But what separates these from typical kids’ bikes is the technology Triumph and OSET have integrated throughout.

Every model features Field-Oriented Control (FOC) for smoother motor operation and Active Power Stabilization (APS) to maintain consistent output as the battery depletes. IP67-rated electronics and batteries ensure water and dust-proof performance — a necessity for off-road riding. The lithium-ion battery packs are tool-free removable with integrated LED charge indicators, and charging is straightforward thanks to twist-lock connectors and built-in carry handles.

Suspension travel scales with each model, from 50mm front/60mm rear on the TXP-12 up to 160mm front/145mm rear on the TXP-24, with higher-end models featuring air-sprung forks with rebound and compression adjustability. Braking follows the same philosophy, featuring cable-operated discs on the TXP-12, hydraulic two-piston setups on the mid-range models, and four-piston calipers on the TXP-24.

The 2-in-1 Design

The standout feature across the TXP range is the modular 2-in-1 configuration. If you remove the seat and mudguard, and you’ve got a standing trials bike (Trials mode). Keep them on for seated off-road riding (XPlore mode). It’s tool-free and takes seconds, which means youngsters can develop both seated trail skills and standing trials techniques without needing two separate bikes.

Kids don’t ride the same way forever, and the TXP range accommodates that evolution. Combined with adjustable seat heights, PIN-protected speed controls, and magnetic safety lanyards, these bikes are built to grow with their riders.

Triumph’s Performance Yellow Treatment

The TXP range wears Triumph’s signature Performance Yellow and Graphite Black livery, giving these youth bikes the same visual aesthetic as the brand’s full-size lineup. The lightweight steel frames are built to Triumph’s standards, from child-specific grip sizing to ball-ended brake levers.

The TXP-20 and TXP-24 also include diagnostic-ready electronics that display fault codes and service alerts, a feature typically reserved for adult bikes. For parents, this means easier troubleshooting and maintenance. For kids, it means less downtime.

Triumph TXP Electric Bikes for Kids

Triumph teamed up with its OSET subsidiary to launch the TXP range — four electric youth bikes that scale from 600W for three-year-olds up to 1600W for teens and adults, with a clever 2-in-1 design that converts between seated trail riding and standing trials mode.
