Totem’s Gorgeous GT Super “Farina” One-Off Blends ’70s Romance With 21st-Century Engineering

Since Riccardo Quaggio founded Totem Automobili back in 2018, the Venetian marque has been quietly rewriting the restomod playbook. Unlike the competition who might make merely incremental upgrades, Totem strips vintage Alfa Romeo Giulias down to their essence — keeping roughly 10% of the original components — and rebuilds them into something that honors the past while refusing to stay there.

Their latest creation, the GT Super “Farina,” debuted at Villa la Massa’s Excellence event outside Florence, and it might be the most cohesive expression of their philosophy yet.

When Brown Looks This Good

Built off the limited-to-40 Giulia-based GT Super from Totem, the “Farina” is a name chosen by the client who commissioned this one-off. The exterior wears a bespoke metallic brown called “Luci del Bosco” (Lights of the Forest), a color that channels the warm, earthy tones you’d find on Italian sports cars from the ’70s. It’s paired with bright-gold wheels and satin nickel trim, while extended satin carbon fiber treatment is featured both inside and out.

Ivory Tower Interior

Step inside and you’re greeted by ivory Nappa leather covering nearly every touchpoint: seats, steering wheel, dashboard, door panels. Alcantara accents break up the monotone. Meanwhile, a wooden knob atop the gated manual shifter and precision-milled aluminum and stainless steel elements (including on the new CNC-machined backlit switches) round out the detailing.

Engineering Evolution

Under that gorgeous skin sits a 2.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 developed with Italian engine specialist Italtechnica. The motor features six individual throttle bodies plus both direct and port fuel injection, delivering 591hp and 516lb.ft of torque in standard trim. The GT Super can also be upgraded to 739hp and 627lb.ft for custom commissions.

As opposed to the standard Super, the “Farina” also introduces a three-way electronically adjustable suspension system that’s controllable from the cockpit.
