Ever since the metal ball incident at the Cybertruck unveiling (which you can commemorate with a broken window decal from Tesla itself), the angular pick-up has reached beyond the automotive industry and captured the world’s attention. And after years of delays and sightings, Tesla finally delivered the first round of Cybertrucks at the end of this past November. While we’re still waiting on the base model, Tesla has teamed up with Heimplanet, a label that makes clean and technical tents and camping gear, on the Cybertruck Basecamp, an inflatable tent purpose-built for the Cybertruck.
This lightweight tent is made using a geodesic airframe design (used in the construction of aircraft airframes) and features a weather-resistant outer shell for protection. Inside, you get a nylon interior with a gray kaleidoscope pattern on the walls, along with a mattress and screen windows. Setup is easy, too, as the tent uses a manual pump for inflation (which takes only a few minutes) instead of traditional tent poles. In addition to the tent itself, you also get an extendable awning, awning poles, and stakes, giving you more space to cook and enjoy your campsite.
Since the tent is designed specifically for the Cybertruck lineup, it sits above the truck bed and below the tonneau cover, so you can still use the bed for storage. Access to the bed’s outlet is available to keep your devices charged, and it’s compatible with the truck’s “Tent Mode,” which you can activate through the touchscreen inside. Should anything happen while you’re adventuring, the package also comes with a repair kit.
The Tesla and Heimplanet Cybertruck Basecamp is available now for $2,975 on the Tesla app. Tesla states that it will be shipped to your preferred Tesla service center, and both installation and shipping are included in the price.
