Richard Mille’s watches have graced the wrists of Formula 1 drivers and celebrities for years, but now the Swiss brand is taking their mechanical obsession in a completely different direction with their first motorcycle. The brand’s latest collaboration with revived British motorcycle manufacturer Brough Superior has produced the RMB01 – a track-focused masterpiece that brings horological precision to the world of two wheels.
This isn’t just another celebrity collaboration slapping logos on existing platforms. After 18 months of back-and-forth between Richard Mille and Brough Superior CEO Thierry Henriette, the two brands have created something special that honors both their respective DNA while pushing boundaries in ways that feel organic rather than forced.

Board Track Racing Meets Modern Engineering
The RMB01 draws its inspiration from the stripped-down board track racers of the 1910s. But, where those early racers were about making do with what you had, the RMB01 is about using every modern engineering advantage available while maintaining that raw, mechanical aesthetic.
The design language is pure utility: elongated tank, minimalist seat, and a fully exposed 997cc V-twin that’s been machined from solid aluminum blocks. It’s a design philosophy that mirrors Richard Mille’s approach to watchmaking, which focuses on the mechanical beauty rather than hiding it behind unnecessary covers.

Watchmaking DNA on Two Wheels
The custom wheels are designed to mirror the gear trains found in watch movements, complete with lightweight alloy hoops and bolted hubs that create a visual stacking system reminiscent of a tourbillon. The mechanical speedometer, co-developed by both brands, features visible gear assemblies that you can actually watch work through the dial face. It feels akin to a skeletonized Richard Mille timepiece built into your dashboard.
Even the structural elements follow horological principles. The forged carbon frame acts as a self-supporting exoskeleton, with components connecting in ways more familiar to watchmaking than traditional motorcycle design.

Power and Performance with Purpose
The heart of the RMB01 is a turbocharged version of Brough’s 997cc water-cooled V-twin, producing 130 horsepower. The engine started life as 352 pounds of raw aluminum before being machined down to just 50 pounds of finished components, showcasing the same weight-obsessed mentality that drives both brands.
The chassis features Brough’s signature Fior-type double wishbone fork, which separates steering and braking forces for enhanced stability in corners while providing an anti-dive effect under braking. Combined with the carbon exoskeleton and aircraft-grade aluminum components, the RMB01 delivers the kind of mechanical precision you’d expect from a collaboration between two brands obsessed with engineering excellence.
