Founded in 2020, re-engauge is a Polish company that specializes in turning vintage automotive instrument clusters from the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s into beautifully-crafted alarm clocks. The latest of these items is re-engauge’s Munich model, an analog quartz clock with backlit dials taken from a BMW 2002.
Despite their unmistakably vintage appearance, these alarm clocks feature a number of modern elements, including built-in Qi-certified wireless charging pads. Alongside the 02-derived Munich, the company also produces a Bochum clock that utilizes the instrumentation used in the Opel Kadett B, and a neo-retro Rennes model that’s from Citroën’s GSA car from the later ‘70s and ‘80s — the latter of which is offered with either an analog or digital quartz clock while the former is kept ticking via a movement made by Germany’s oldest watchmaker, Kienzle. The Bochum is also produced in regular and in houndstooth versions. What’s more, the company is also poised to soon release its Stuttgart model, which will be based on the Mercedes W114 (and W115).
The re-engauge Vintage Car Instrument Cluster Alarm Clocks are all priced at €869 (or approximately $980). Both versions of the Bochum and the Rennes model are available now, while the Munich and Stuttgart clocks are slated for a release in the near future.
