After years of development and teasers, Porsche finally pulled the cover off of its limited edition 911 Dakar production model in November of 2022. In total, the off-road-ready 911 variant was earmarked for 2,500 examples worldwide — the allocations for all of which were snapped up almost immediately. Over the last two years, the Stuttgart marque has steadily built each specimen, culminating in the very last unit to roll off the assembly line. And with the 911 Dakar being such a special mode, the company opted to do something special for the final specimen built, resulting in a one-off 911 Dakar that comes courtesy of the Porsche Sonderwunsch program.
The Basics
The final 911 Dakar to leave the factory benefits from a slew of bespoke modifications made both inside and out. Commissioned by an Italian sports car collector, the build pays homage to a legendary Porsche Dakar racer from the marque’s golden era of rally racing.
The Livery
The final 911 Dakar sports a one-off livery that’s heavily inspired by the paint digs seen on Porsche’s 1984 Paris-Dakar Rally-winning race car. This throwback paint scheme is comprised of Signal Yellow and Gentian Blue Metallic plus benefits from the addition of a factory Rallye Design Package. This livery is complemented via five-arm alloy wheels finished in signal yellow and red-anodized aluminum recovery eyelets fore and aft.
The Interior
The inside of the last-ever 911 Dakar built has also received the Sonderwunsch treatment. Upholstered in black leather and Alcantara, the cabin of the one-off features accent stitching, dash trim strips, a center console, and door panels all decked out in yellow. Hat’s more, the ‘911 Dakar’ lettering on the headrests of the set of Sports Seats Plus has also been embroidered in Speedyellow thread. The eight-speed PDK’s gear selector sports a matching Speedyellow leather insert, plus when the doors are opened, there are LED projectors that now cast the Sonderwunsch logo onto the tarmac.
Supplementary Special Details
Alongside the custom livery and bespoke interior, the Sonderwunsch team also bestowed the final 911 Dakar with a host of other special additions. This includes even bigger fender flares at all four corners, LED Matrix headlights customized via Lampedusa-colored accent rings, and stainless steel skid plates now finished in black, front and rear.
