Manthey’s 911 GT3 Kit Turns Porsche’s Track Monster Into Something Even More Extreme

Since Olaf Manthey set up shop near the Nürburgring back in 1996, his team has been doing one thing better than anyone else: making fast Porsches faster. After dominating endurance racing for decades, including multiple 24 Hours wins at both Le Mans and the Nordschleife, Manthey became so intertwined with Porsche that the factory bought a majority stake in 2013. Now, every time Porsche releases a new GT car, the question isn’t if Manthey will develop an upgrade kit, but how much quicker it’ll be.

The answer for the latest 992.2 GT3? Nearly three seconds faster around the ‘Ring.

Aero That Does Its Job

Where most body kits are purely cosmetic, Manthey’s approach comes straight from their GT racing program. The entire underbody has been reworked into a continuous aerodynamic surface, with turning vanes that now stretch 1.5m (~5ft) — extended by a full meter from stock. To achieve this, they’ve eliminated the luggage compartment entirely, creating a completely smooth undertray that channels air with precision.

Up front, the lip extends 12mm further with new diffuser fins and side-mounted flaps working together to plant the nose. Out back, the swan-neck wing gets wider with a Gurney flap and dramatically curved endplates that look as aggressive as they are functional. Carbon fiber aerodiscs on the rear wheels complete the package, reducing drag while the lengthened diffuser fins add downforce without penalty.

In road mode, the kit generates 782lbs of downforce at 177 mph. Switch to circuit mode — which you absolutely cannot use on public roads — and that figure jumps to 1,190lbs! For context, that’s bordering on full race car territory, all while keeping the 4.0-liter flat-six completely untouched.

Suspension Built for Punishment

Generating that much downforce means the suspension needs a complete rethink. Manthey and Porsche co-developed a four-way adjustable coilover system specifically for this kit, with spring rates 10 percent stiffer at the front compared to the previous 992.1 Manthey GT3. The brilliance here is in details like rebound and compression that can be adjusted without tools, so you can dial in your setup trackside without needing a full pit crew.

Optional lightweight forged wheels — 20-inch front, 21-inch rear —cut 13.2lbs of unsprung weight, while braided stainless steel brake lines come standard for that critical precision under heavy braking. The brakes themselves remain stock, because frankly, the GT3’s standard stoppers are already exceptional. Manthey just made sure they’d perform flawlessly under the increased loads.

Proving Itself on the Track

DTM champion Ayhancan Güven took the Manthey-equipped GT3 around the Nordschleife in 6:52.981 — and that was in less than ideal conditions with damp patches on track. For perspective, that’s 2.76 seconds quicker than the previous generation 992.1 with Manthey’s kit, and Manthey’s managing director Nicolas Raeder says they’re planning another attempt in better weather to show what it can really do. The development process took over a year, with extensive wind tunnel work and thousands of kilometers of testing at European circuits.

Recap

Manthey Porsche 911 GT3 Kit

Manthey’s latest upgrade kit for the 992.2 GT3 adds nearly 1,200 pounds of downforce through race-derived aero and suspension tweaks — no engine mods needed — and proved itself with a sub-6:53 Nürburgring lap that’s almost three seconds quicker than the previous version.
