You might be more familiar with Kith’s eclectic sneaker catalog or series of cereal-themed collaborations; however, founder Ronnie Fieg has managed to step into the driving street and push the brand as far as possible — and we mean that literally. Upon collaborating with BMW, the two have unveiled a pair of gorgeous models redesigned by Fieg.
The overhauled electric examples include the uber-sleek i4 M50 and a spin on the 1972 BMW 1602. Both of the models are coated in a deep shade of green that Kith labels ‘Vitality Green.’ Performance-wise, the i4 M50 boasts a fully-electric powertrain powered by two BMW M eDrive motors that boast a total of 544 hp in Sport Boost mode. Seven of these state-of-the-art models have been redesigned for the public, but only one will be available via auction. Moreover, the winner will also receive one of each piece from the Kith for BMW 2022 collection, which includes everything from a co-branded surfboard to a variety of garments.
While Kith redesigned over a handful of the contemporary mid-size sedan, the head-turning spin on the first-ever electrified BMW is something to behold. That said, the 1972 BMW 1602 Elektro by Ronnie Fieg will not be going up for auction, as it will be passed down to the designer by the BMW Group as a testament to his craftsmanship, passion, and admiration for the esteemed marque. Lastly, each model has undergone a luxurious interior makeover, highlighted by caramel-colored, full-grain merino leather.
Portions from the auction proceeds will be donated to the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust, so winners can rest knowing they’re giving their money up for much more than a shiny new car. The BMW i4 M50 by Kith is estimated to sell for upwards of $100,000 via Sotheby’s. The lot will be open for the next ten days.
