GMC Debuts a Line of Overlanding Gear & Accessories for Its HUMMER EV

With an impressive 350-mile range, a power output of an even 1,000hp and 770ft-lbs of torque, 11″ of ground clearance, an adjustable air suspension with 13″ of travel, a sub-40′ turning radius, and the ability to crab-walk via a four-wheel steering setup, the General Motor Company’s all-new HUMMER EV appears to be an immensely capable off-roader. The electrified automotive icon is even more competent in off-grid applications when equipped with its available Extreme Off-Road Package, which adds 18″ wheels wrapped in 35″ all-terrain rubber, rock sliders, a full suite of underbody armor, an UltraVision3 system complete with underbody cameras, and an “Extraction Mode” that raises the air suspension up to 16″ to help aid in escaping sticky situations.

So, while the HUMMER EV may already be extremely conducive to use in the dirt, mud, snow, and sand, GMC is further leaning into the electrified truck’s off-road-ready nature with the debut of nearly 200 all-new factory accessories that include a plethora of overlanding equipment. This includes an electronically-retractable hard tonneau cover, a dedicated off-road recovery kit, a 50″ roof-mounted light-bar, front LED auxiliary lights, rock sliders with integrated steps, a battery-powered Dometic cooler, a bed-mounted vertical full-size spare tire carrier, a bed-mounted cargo management cross rail system, underseat organizers, I-Bar storage, a soft-shelled rooftop camping tent, and a four-piece “Sky Panel Storage Tray” set that neatly stows away in the front trunk when not in use.

GMC will publicly reveal its new line of accessories for the HUMMER EV in only a few short days at the 2021 SEMA Show in Las Vegas — scheduled to run from November 2nd through the 5th — before production for the pickup variant begins by the end of the year, with manufacturing of the SUV-spec commencing in 2023.
