In the last couple of years, GMC has taken enormous steps to ensure that the Hummer nameplate no longer shared synonymity with gas-guzzling, eco-unfriendly machines. Closing the curtain on the previous military-inspired trucks and SUVs, the American automaker launched the brand-new Hummer EV battery-powered line-up last year.

Now, precluding automobiles altogether, GMC has unveiled the Hummer EV All-Wheel Drive Ebike. Tapping into another element that the Hummer name is known for, the new super eBike also sports a certain bulkiness, especially when it comes to the fat 4-inch tires with puncture-protected molded-in liners.

There are two 48V LG battery options — a 17.5Ah and a 21.0Ah — powering twin 750W hub motors capable of over 118lb.ft of torque, a top speed of over 30mph, and a range of up to 50 miles on a single charge. Three drive modes include Cruise mode, which utilizes rear-wheel drive for power consumption, Traction mode, which is optimal for loose or slick terrain, and Adrenaline mode for off-roading and steeper inclines.

The Hummer EV AWD Ebike will roll out this December for either $3,999 or $4,175, with $500 pre-orders accepted now on Recon’s website.
