First established in 1980, delta4x4 is a renowned German automotive tuner specializing in producing hardware and components for modern off-roaders. And while the shop works on all manner of vehicles, its world-class reputation has lead to it delivering go-anywhere takes on a myriad of ultra-high-end models ranging from Mercedes G-Class wagons to safari-style Porsche 992s to an off-road-kitted Rolls-Royce Cullinan. With the company being no stranger to churning out super elite off-roaders, it was a natural choice for Genesis Europe when the luxury brand went looking for a partner to transform its GV70 crossover SUV into a ruggedized overlander

The build began life as a 3.5T Sport-spec of the GV70. As a compact luxury crossover, the GV70 may not seem like the most logical choice for an overland build, though with the right upgrades, delta4x4 has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that the luxury model is actually surprisingly conducive to off-roading. Dubbed “Project Overland,” this one-off GV70 has been lifted and widened by approximately 2.0” before being equipped with a set of 18” classic B-rugged wheels shod in Continental ATR tires. Flared fenders have also been fitted at all four corners to open up space for the build’s bigger wheels and tires, and increased suspension travel.

The bottom of the vehicle has been bestowed with a skid plate, while the top has been capped off with a custom roof rack that allows it to accommodate a wide range of overlanding gear including a PIAA light bar, locking gear cases, a shovel, and a full set of recovery boards. Sunken into the crossover’s lower side grilles are a pair of quad-unit LED auxiliary lights from Baja Designs. While the Genesis Europe x delta4x4 GV70 “Project Overland” won’t be entering production, it nonetheless does a superb job demonstrating the luxury SUV’s potential to be built out as a ruggedized, go-anywhere mobile basecamp.
