Despite it military roots and rugged appearance, the standard Mercedes-AMG G63 isn’t a particularly off-road-capable vehicle in its stock form. With an immense passion for the G-Wagen platform and a desire to take the SUV off the beaten path, Southern California’s Pit26 Motorsports has developed a reputation for turning G-Class models into lifted and ruggedized, go-anywhere off-roaders — the latest of which is the shop’s all-new Pit26 G63 AMG Crew Cab.

Based on a 2019 to 2023 Mercedes-Benz G550 or AMG G63 G-Class donor, Pit26’s new crew cab model was engineered from the ground up to deliver hardcore off-roading capabilities while still retaining daily drivability. After being stripped down to the frame, the donor truck sees its chassis stretched by 20” before being fitted with a full-length pickup bed. From there, the G-Class donor is treated to re-geared portal axles, upgraded upper and lower control arms, knuckle steering, a full lower truss-equipped rear axle, and custom-developed 2.65” Bilstein performance racing shocks.

Sold with the option of either 20” forged simulated bead-lock wheels or 18” Innov8 racing wheels, the crew cab is also offered with a wide range of configurable options. Sporting a dark grigio paint job, the first unit the company has completed features a custom front bumper with an integrated winch, a high-clearance rear bumper with a full-size spare carrier, a roof-rack fitted with KC off-road lights, a rooftop tent, factory-running board deletes filled in by electric side steps, a custom exhaust, a pair of mountain bike bed racks, and Truck Vault rear cargo storage.

Available for order now, the G-Wagen Crew Cab By Pit26 Motorsports has been priced starting at $385,000.
