Since 2009, EarthCruiser has turned itself into one of the leading suppliers of overland vehicles in the world. Between the massive pop-up EXP and the fixed-roof FX, both available in single- or dual-cab, and even the company’s custom-build CORE offshoot division, the Australian outfit has assembled the ultimate all-terrain vehicles ready to go when you want to explore the far reaches of the planet.
And now all three models will be getting a plus-up with the announced transition to an Isuzu NPR Series chassis for increased performance, replacing the FUSO chassis that were in place before. Building on EarthCruiser’s proprietary 4×4 drive-train system, this new fitting will yield the most agile and capable expedition vehicle platform on the market, and the only cab-over 4×4 production vehicle in its class made for purchase in the United States.
The first of EarthCruiser’s models to make the transition is the EXP. Thanks to its 6.6L V8 engine from General Motors, typically used for heavy pick-ups, the overland vehicle produces 350hp and comes equipped with mud terrain E-rated tires to get you through your toughest climbs. Atop the 11-plus-foot wheelbase on the new C-channel straight-frame chassis, the livable portion of the vehicle stretches to over 13.5ft in total length, with 87.7sq.ft of interior area and over 7ft in height when the roof is up (and over 5ft when it’s down).
