Auction Block: 2010 Porsche 911 Carrera Safari Build

Over the last decade, Porsche 911 safari builds have become increasingly commonplace, though the vast majority of these projects utilize earlier, vintage 911 donors. And that’s what makes this expertly-executed Porsche off-roader so noteworthy, as it’s been constructed around a modern 997.

Built in early 2021, the project has received a JRZ 997 Safari suspension setup with a 3” lift, RSS adjustable lower control arms, Tarret adjustable thrust arms, and an aluminum skid-plate. Riding on 16″ Braid Winrace wheels wrappped in BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires, the 997 has also been gifted a hood-mounted LED light pod, a 997 Turbo deck-lid, a Yakima roof rack housing a full-size spare, bespoke “SAFARI” badging, a Thule bike carrier, and a Zunsport mesh grille. Powering the off-road-ready 911 is a 3.6L flat-six that’s been bestowed with a B&M short shifter, a  six-speed manual transaxle, and “Gundo” mufflers exiting through Carrera S quad exhaust outlets — an arrangement that’s good for 345hp and 287ft-lbs of torque. Alongside a custom roll cage, the build’s interior has also been outfitted with Recaro Pole Position seats paired with Schroth racing harnesses, a Bose stereo system, and an Alcantara trim package adorning the handbrake, shift knob, and the build’s GT3 RS steering wheel.

This modified safari-style 2010 Porsche 911 997 Carrera Coupe is currently being sold through Bring a Trailer out of San Francisco, California. As of the time of writing, bidding has reached $50,000, with roughly six days remaining on the sale.
