Auction Block: 1976 AMC Pacer ‘Wayne’s World’ Movie Car

Cinematic history has gone to show that the only appropriate response to someone saying “Party time!” is, more often than not, “Excellent!”. The Wayne’s World movies are arguably the most memorable films to have been born out of the television institution that is Saturday Night Live. And when it comes to the World of Wayne, there is no scene as notable as the legendary “Bohemian Rhapsody” sing-along session that goes down in Garth Algar’s baby-blue Mirthmobile in the original film. Well, fans of the ’90s comedy can now rock out to the Queen song in a similar fashion by owning the very same 1976 AMC Pacer from the film, as it’s just hit the auction block.

The classic American coupe is equipped with every zany modification that was displayed through the Wayne’s World films. Albeit powered by its stock 258-cubic-inch six-cylinder engine, the sweet ride sits on a set of intentionally mismatched chrome spoked wheels and even comes equipped with Garth’s mightily convenient licorice dispenser — it seems as though the auction winner may have to fill that up themselves, however. On top of that, the two-door ride is equipped with welded tow hooks and then rounded out with its emblematic flame decals.

Fittingly enough, the single restoration that has not been left intact is its boosted stereo system and 10-inch speakers, making this all the more suitable to jam out to your favorite tapes. While all this sounds enticing, we recommend winners keep an eye out for any potential dinosaurs or T-1000 Terminators that may appear outside the driver’s side window after purchasing this.

Pop culture fanatics will be rejoiced to see this comedic relic hit the market in its purest form, and we can’t blame them. The Wayne’s World movie car is taking bids now with no reserve at Barrett Jackson’s Scottsdale 2022 auction.
