As Toyota’s longest-running series of models, the Land Cruiser lineup is home to some of the most iconic SUVs of all time, and there’s a slew of dedicated fans and companies who still stand by these powerful vehicles and all of their rugged glory. The Legacy Overland marquee is undoubtedly among these fans and is dedicated to restoring classic SUVs (especially FJ40s and FJ60s), and a refurbished 1986 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 from the company is up for auction over at Bring a Trailer.
Refurbished by the Connecticut-based Legacy Overland outfit (which prides itself on restoring and reimagining classic cars while maintaining traditions), this ‘86 FJ60 had its frame stripped and coated, and boasts a rebuilt 4.2-liter 2F inline-six, four-speed manual transmission, two-speed transfer case, and overhauled suspension and brakes. The exterior has also been refinished in Desert Storm Tan, and the interior was retrimmed in distressed brown leather with Harris Tweed tartan inserts. You’re getting a two-inch lift with Old Man Emu shocks, 15″ steel wheels with 33″ BFGoodrich tires, and some extras, including LED lighting, a roof basket, AC, and a JBL sound system.
This FJ60 was acquired by the current owner in 2021 (after Legacy Overland refurbished it) and is now being offered on dealer consignment here in California. The odometer shows 532 miles, which Bring a Trailer says that it likely represents “mileage accumulated since the refurbishment,” and it comes with an accident and damage-free CarFax.
