Triumph has always had a knack for taking a bike that already has no business being as good-looking as it is, and somehow making it more interesting. The Speed Twin 1200 RS has been one of the most compelling modern classics on the market since its 2025 launch, blending Öhlins suspension and Brembo Stylema brakes with the signature Bonneville parallel twin. Then Triumph took it a step further earlier this year with the limited Café Racer Edition. But now, to mark the 15th anniversary of the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, they’ve built exactly one more, and it might be the best one yet: a one-of-a-kind DGR Edition that you can only win.

A Ride Worth Dressing For

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride started in 2012 when a Sydney-based Don Draper enthusiast named Mark Hawwa organized a themed ride to counter the leather-and-loud stereotype surrounding motorcycle culture. It worked. By 2018, over 115,000 riders in 100-plus countries were suiting up for the cause, and the event has since raised north of $60 million for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health through Movember. Triumph came on as the official motorcycle partner in 2014 and has been putting up custom prize bikes ever since, from Thruxtons to Bonnevilles, and now this.

A Seat Worth Talking About

What separates the DGR Edition from the already excellent Café Racer Limited Edition comes down to two things, and the first one is the main event: a bespoke Harris Tweed bullet seat, handwoven in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland and certified authentic. It’s the kind of material you’d find on a well-worn sport coat at a country estate, not straddled over a 103hp parallel twin. The seat reinforces the low, tucked silhouette created by the clip-on bars and single-seat profile.

The second distinguishing detail is a gold “15” number board positioned below the seat, commemorating 15 years of the DGR, along with a unique certificate of authenticity. Everything else, like the Competition Green and Aluminium Silver paintwork, machined bar-end mirrors, ribbed clutch and alternator cover badges, black head bolt covers, and sculpted knee pads, carries over from the Café Racer Limited Edition.

The Hardware Underneath

Built on the Speed Twin 1200’s tubular steel frame with a fabricated aluminum swingarm, the DGR Edition runs all the same top-shelf hardware as the RS it’s derived from. Up front, fully adjustable 43mm Marzocchi upside-down forks handle 120mm of travel. Out back, Öhlins twin RSUs with external reservoirs take care of the rest. Brembo Stylema M4.30 radial calipers clamp twin 320mm floating discs, with a Nissin caliper in the rear. Metzeler Racetec RR K3 tires are fitted as standard.

The engine is Triumph’s high-compression Bonneville 1200 twin, a 1,200cc, liquid-cooled engine with a 270-degree firing order that gives it that characteristic loping pulse. It puts out 103.56hp at 7,750 rpm and 82.61 lb.ft of torque at 4,250 rpm, all managed through a 6-speed gearbox with Triumph Shift Assist and three rider modes (Sport, Road, Rain). A brushed stainless 2-into-2 exhaust handles gives this thing its sound. At 478lbs wet, this isn’t a lightweight, but it’s well within the class norm.
