In 1920, Indian Motocycle (as it was then known) introduced the very first iteration of the Scout — a side valve V-Twin powered model penned by Charles B. Franklin. The Scout remained in production for years before the plug was eventually pulled. In 2015, the Scout was revived as Indian’s entry-level cruiser option, allowing it to steal some market share from Harley with its more advanced tech and ultra-accessible sub-$10,000 price point. After 2021, the price was raised above the four-figure mark, slightly lowering its value proposition. Now, even with rampant inflation, America’s oldest moto marque has returned to the drawing board in order to deliver a 2025 model year Scout Sixty Bobber cruiser that’s once again priced just below $10,000.

The Basics
Taking its name from its 60-cubic-inch displacement, the 2025 Scout Sixty Bobber is a modern take on a classic stripped down bobber-stye cruiser bike. Constructed around a tubular steel frame, this new motorcycle sports a host of throwback and custom-inspired elements ranging from a blacked-out headlight bucket to a solo-style bobber saddle to slammed 51mm suspension and 16-inch five-spoke wheels.
The Powertrain
The 2025 Scout Sixty Bobber is kicked along by Indian’s newly-redesigned liquid-cooled SpeedPlus 999cc V-Twin engine. Bolted to a five-speed transmission, the liter-sized V-Twin cranks out 85hp and 65ft-lbs of torque. While these figures are nothing to scoff at, they still allow the bike to be incredibly approachable to new riders.

Modern-Day Tech
Despite its classic Americana styling, the latests Scout release benefits from a host of modern tech in the form of standard ABS, a larger battery, all-LED lighting, traction control, and multiple ride modes (standard, sport, and rain).
Built For New Riders
The Scout has literally been engineered to cater to new riders — and try to bring future riders into the Indian fold, as over 90% of all Scout sales are to customers new to the brand. In addition to having a low center-of-gravity and being relatively lightweight — at least for a liter-sized cruiser — at just 536lbs at the curb, the Scout Sixty Bobber also boasts a super low 25.6-inch seat height, and a host of integrated rider aids and assists that make it a markedly safer bike.

Personalization-Ready
On top of being designed for new riders, this new sub-$10,000 Scout variant has also been engineered to be as modular and custom-friendly as possible. To help riders further personalize their new Scout Sixty Bobber, Indian is offering a wide range of available add-ons and accessories ranging from saddle bags to two-up seats to quick-release windscreens to upgraded RIDE COMMAND touchscreen displays.
