It was a week ago today that Toyota first gave the motoring world a glimpse of its forthcoming next-generation i-FORCE MAX hybrid system-equipped Tacoma pickup truck. And on what is now appropriately being called “Taco Tuesday,” the Japanese automaker has once again teased the new fourth-gen Tacoma, this time revealing an additional pair of images that provide further insight into the 2024 Tacoma lineup.
While the first teaser only showed off a single photo of the fourh-gen Taco’s tailgate, this week’s reveal provides us with a look at two new angles of the hybrid pickup. The first is of the front of the truck, and while it does show a small section of the new Tacoma’s grille, it’s difficult to ascertain if the design has been updated, and if so how much it’s been revised. What is abundantly clear, however, is that the aft-end of the pickup will receive an all-new headlight assembly with projector-style LEDs supplemented via horizontal LED DRLs and an illuminated trim-level badge — though more on that later.

The second photo shows the 2024 Tacoma’s rear bumper and includes a badge for Toyota’s all-new Trailhunter trim level. First announced when Toyota revealed the Tundra Trailhunder Concept at the latest SEMA Show, the Trailhunter lineup will consists of turnkey go-anywhere models, however, unlike the TRD Pro-spec pickups that are designed with a focus on high-performance race-derived off-roading capabilities, the Trailhunter range will focus more on storage and off-grid appointments — while still retaining much of the TRD Pro’s immense go-anywhere capabilities. Interestingly, the Trailhunter lineup will also debut pretty much exactly a decade after Toyota firs introduced its TRD Pro range. What’s more, a visible ARB badge also suggests the Tacoma Trailhunter will likely feature several off-road upgrades from the brand, including red tow hooks which can be seen in the photo. And, thanks to the image’s low angle, a rear skid plate can also be spied in the rear bumper shot.
Thus far, aside from classifying the pickup as a 2024 model year vehicle, the marque has yet to reveal any further information on pricing, availability, or a release date for the 2024 Toyota Tacoma Trailerhunter, TRD Pro, or any other models in the forthcoming lineup.
