After a 25-year hiatus, Ford reintroduced its mighty Bronco model in 2021, resulting in one of the most hyped and hotly anticipated new model releases of the last decade. In addition to outrageous dealer markups and an extensive waiting list, the immense popularity of the new platform has also more recently prompted Ford to bid adieu to its less-capable Bronco Sport base model for the 2024 model year in an effort to focus on the more in-demand trim levels. And while we’ll soon be losing the entry-level trim, we are now gaining a new special edition variant of the Sport-spec with the all-new Ford Bronco Sport Free Wheeling Special Edition.

The Ford Bronco Sport Free Wheeling is directly inspired by the Free Wheeling package that the Blue Oval offered on various models in the late ‘70s including the F-150, Econoline van, and of course, the Bronco. Just like with the ‘70s era Free Wheeling models, the Free Wheeling Bronco Sport comes cloaked in a special sunset-inspired red, orange, and yellow livery. The Ford Bronco Sport Free Wheeling’s throwback livery has also been complemented via black steel wheels with red accents, as well as blacked-out finishes on the SUV’s bumpers, mirrors, and grilles.

Moving inside the cabin, Ford has bestowed the interior fo the Bronco Sport Free Wheeling with a similar treatment. This takes the form of black seats with matching red, orange, and yellow inserts, plus a red trim color on various interior elements that matches the shade of the special editions wheels. Orange accent stitching is also present inside the car, as is a special plaque set in the center console. Interestingly, the Bronco Sport Free Wheeling initially broke cover back in 2021 as a one-off concept for that year’s SEMA Show. It’s also genuinely impressive how similar the special edition looks to the one-off, as the concept is nearly identical to the limited production offering.

Available now, the 2024 Ford Bronco Sport Free Wheeling Special Edition has been priced starting at $33,730.
