Originally unveiled as a one-off concept at EICMA in late 2019 before being debuting in its final production form approximately a year later, the Husqvarna Norden 901 is a premium Swedish-made adventure touring motorcycle that sports a futuristic take on traditional Dakar-style rally raider designs. In a bid to bolster the bike’s go-anywhere and long-range travel capabilities, the KTM-owned outfit has now rolled out a factory-upgraded variant of the ADV model known as the Husqvarna Norden 901 Expedition.

The Norden 901 Expedition is based on the already capable existing Norden 901, though sees base model’s Chromium-molybdenum steel trellis frame fitted with long-travel WP XPLOR suspension front and rear that now offer 9.44” (240mm) of travel fore and aft. Powered by an 889cc parallel-twin engine cranking out 105hp and 73.7ft-lbs of torque, the Expedition-spec of the adventure motorcycle has also received numerous touring and off-road upgrades including a new center stand, adjustable heated grips and rider’s seat, a markedly taller touring windscreen, a new perforated full-coverage heavy-duty skid-plate, and a set of included topo-patterned, Husqvarna-branded soft panniers that collectively offer up 36 liters of storage space.

Riding on tubeless spoked wheels shod in Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR rubber, the bike also features a power-assist slipper clutch, a rear luggage rack, a steering damper, and a high-capacity five-gallon (19L) tank that affords a range of roughly 250-miles in between fill-ups. Brimming with tech, Husqvarna has also treated the bike to a smartphone-connected TFT display with turn-by-turn navigation, Husky’s Easy Shift function, cornering-sensitive nine-level-adjustable traction control, switchable cornering ABS with an Off-Road mode, and four different riding modes (Street, Rain, Off-Road, Explorer). Completing the package is a newly-designed topographically-themed blue livery with white and yellow accents.

The 2023 Husqvarna Norden 901 Expedition is available now, with pricing starting at $15,799 — only a $1,300 premium over the base model Norden 901.
