First introduced in 2003 as the first new model under Volkswagen AG’s ownership — as well as the first-ever Bentley built using mass production manufacturing techniques — the Bentley Continental GT is an ultra-high-end grand tourer that’s as luxurious and well-appointed as it is high-performance. And though the third-gen Continental GT debuted all the way back in 2018, the Crewe-based company is now adding a new addition to the model range with the Continental GT S.
Offered for the hardtop Continental GT and the drop-top GTC (GT Convertible), the new S-spec trim level gains a host of visual updates, along with a few new pieces of componentry. This includes a Sport exhaust system complete with a new blacked-out quad tailpipe arrangement, model-exclusive 22” wheels that come offered in Gloss Black or Pale Brodgar Satin finishes, smoked head and taillights, and a black gloss grille. The interior of the car has also been bestowed with numerous tweaks and additions, now consisting of a two-tone setup trimmed in Dinamica and leather with S embroidery, Fluted S design sports seats, and all-new performance-focused driver’s display graphics.
Under the hood, the S-spec’s powertrain goes unchanged, and as such sees the car’s twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine putting down the same 542hp and 568ft-lbs of torque — allowing for a 0-60mph time of just 3.9 seconds, and a top speed of 198mph. Other highlights on the Continental GT S and GTC S include the marque’s innovative 48-volt electronic anti-roll system, on-demand all-wheel drive, and Bentley Dynamic Ride all as standard.
Though pricing has yet to be revealed, we anticipate the 2023 Bentley Continental GT S and Continental GTC S to carry an MSRP of around $240,000 — placing it between the roughly $220K base model and the more high-end, approximately $280K Continental GT Speed.
