Ironwood Bestows Its Signature Treatment Upon Royal Enfield’s Meteor 350 Moto

Based in Amsterdam, Ironwood Custom Motorcycles — the renowned bespoke bike building outfit that was founded in 2012 by Arjan van den Boom and Nick de Ruijter — is best-known as the originator of the BMW “bob-fighter” genre, a style that’s been emulated by countless custom moto shops since. For its latest project, Ironwood has opted to mix things up, pivoting away from its regular BMW-based builds and bestowing its signature look upon one of Royal Enfield’s new Enfield Meteor 350s.

Officially commissioned by Royal Enfield Europe, the cruiser-inspired standard has received a slew of modifications and upgrades, including treating the chassis to one of Ironwood’s hallmark CNC-machined floating seat posts which has been capped off with a one-off diamond-stitched saddle courtesy of Miller Kustom Upholstery. The Meteor has also received custom fenders set in bespoke brackets fore and aft, supercross-style bars fitted with Biltwell grips and Motogadget bar-end mirrors, a slew of blacked-out chromed pieces, upgraded YSS rear shocks, and stock wheels now shod in Continental TKC80 knobbies. The donor’s fuel-injected 20hp 349cc single has also been gifted a custom exhaust terminating in an Akrapovič GP muffler — another one of Ironwood’s hallmark traits. The final touch comes in the form of the Enfield’s paint job, a custom air-brushed space-themed livery inspired by Arjan’s love for all things Star Wars and expertly applied by Royal Kustom Works.

Alongside standing as a beautiful one-off build, the project also thoroughly demonstrates the new model’s conduciveness to customization. Now complete, Ironwood Custom Motorcycles’ Meteor 350 build is slated to start making appearances around the customs and bike show circuit, starting at the 2021 EICMA show later this month.
