Since the shop’s inception, Earth Motorcycles has focused on incremental progress, delivering ever-more-refined one-off builds after churning out an initial work utilizing the same donor bike. And after previously debuting its R100RT-based “Hailer” project before following it up with the even sleeker “Budzogan” R100 build, the Slovakian shop has now pulled the cover off of its second Honda Dominator build, an even more thoroughly-considered dual-sport moto that wonderfully demonstrates Earth Moto’s ever-growing skillsets.
The Slovakia-based shop began the project with a complete teardown of the 1991 model year donor before building the NX back up with a minimalistic, arrow-shaped subframe equipped with a set of micro-LED indicators serving as the structure’s rear frame plugs and a bespoke brown leather saddle adorning the waspish new frame-rails. Set just in front of the build’s gas tank — which was professionally coated using a 2k technology —the build’s cockpit has also received a lower and wider set of handlebars fitted with rubber Domino grips, top-shelf Motone switchgear buttons, and a circular aftermarket speedometer with integrated warning lights. Weighing only 306lbs, the project has been named “Bakula.”
Now running through a Motogadget M-unit with a keyless ignition and alarm, the bike’s electronics system has also been completely revised, and now features all-new wiring and an Aliant LiFePo4 9Ah battery. The dual-exhaust port single at the heart of the build has also been treated to an equally-involved refresh that included a full rebuild, new filtration, and a bespoke exhaust system with sandblasted and black ceramic-coated headers feeding into a satin-finished stainless steel muffler. What’s more, the Dominator has also been treated to refreshed braking hardware with new front discs and pads, new Venhill hoses with stainless steel banjo bolts, and rebuilt levers. Shod in Mitas E-07 tube tires, the project’s wheel-set has seen the Dommie’s stock 21” front hoop swapped out for a 19” wheel, too. Other noteworthy elements include a Highsider LED headlight, a fully de-tabbed chassis, and a front-end that’s been shortened by 2” before being powder-coated then paired with a rebuilt rear shock.
Based on how ridiculously clean and well crafted both of Earth Moto’s second-generation builds have turned out, we can only imagine the caliber of the work the Slovakian custom moto outfit will be delivering on its third, fourth, and fifth-gen projects.
