Headquartered out of a new state-of-the-art facility in Vallejo, California, Kindred Motorworks is a customs and restomod shop that specializes in breathing new life into classic American rides. For years, the North Bay shop has been producing heavily modernized classic Ford Bronco builds that aim to bolster comfort, performance, and reliability. In a bid to bestow its Bronco restomod series with improved go-anywhere capabilities, Kindred has now unveiled an available off-road package for its Bronco known as the Trail Edition.

Available exclusively on Kindred’s V8-powered Bronco, the Trail Edition upgrade package does a superb job of improving the donor’s off-road autonomy without hugely altering its appearance. Costing only $10,000, the Trail Edition package features a steel front impact bumper with an integrated WARN Zeon 10-S winch rated at 10,000lbs, a pair of tow hooks, and a set of yellow-lensed auxiliary lights. The aft-end of the truck has also been fitted with a matching rear impact bumper with an integrated hitch and tire carrier. The Trail Edition Bronco was also designed for year-round use, and its prototype build is currently undergoing both warm and cold-weather field and torture testing. The platform has also been designed to accommodate additional off-road upgrades and accessories, serving more as a jumping off point or platform for additional work rather than being a complete turnkey off-roader.

The Trail Edition variant also benefits from the enormous slew of upgrades and amenities that are present on Kindred’s existing Bronco restomod. In addition to a 460-hp 3rd-gen 5.0-liter Ford Coyote, this also includes Hydroboost-powered disc brakes with six-pot calipers up front and four-piston items in the rear, a coil spring rear suspension, a Dana 44 front differential with chromoly axles, limited slip diffs fore and aft, and an ATLAS 2 transfer case — all built atop a freshly reinforced and powder-coated chassis. Offered in 10 color options, the exterior of the Bronco also sports all-LED lighting, removable doors, and an automatic retractable step with LED lighting. The interior has also been bestowed with RECARO leather bucket seats, power steering, keyless entry, a six-point cage, an electric parking brake, a vehicle theft recovery system, a backup camera, and a hard top with a locking lift gate.

The Kindred Motorworks Bronco Trail Edition is available for order now, with pricing starting at $179,000.
