With the popularity of Overlanding currently nearing a fever pitch, more and more manufacturers have begun introducing long-range, go-anywhere turnkey models such as the Rivian R1T and Toyota’s new Trailhunter series. And the latest outfit to get in on the action is none other than famed tuning brand and supercar-maker, Hennessey Performance Engineering, which has just pulled the cover off of an all-new upgrade package for its already thoroughly impressive Ram-based MAMMOTH 1000 TRX.
Dubbed the MAMMOTH 1000 TRX Overland Edition, this ruggedized rig is being touted by HPE as the “world’s most powerful Overlanding pickup” — a claim that almost certainly rings true considering the 1,012hp and 969ft-lbs of torque that the supercharged Supertruck produces. Aiming to bolster the platform’s versatility, durability, utility, and self-reliance, the Overland Edition truck rides on 20” ten-spoke HPE wheels wrapped in 35” all-terrain tires. The Overland Edition truck also boasts a front and rear leveling kit and custom off-road bumpers front and rear. A Stage 2 upgrade also includes larger 37” tires and upgraded electronic fold-out steps.
Constructed around a TRX bed rack, the pickup also sports a modular system that carries a retractable 55” awning, auxiliary fuel tanks, a pressurized water reservoir, a hard-shell Nimbus rooftop tent, and a retractable ladder. Additionally, the rig has also been bestowed with a host of other Overlanding essentials such as LED perimeter lights, grab handles, a 28” splitting axe, and a shovel. Like the regular MAMMOTH 1000 TRX, the Overland Edition is kicked along by a 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 that’s been gifted an upgraded high-flow 2.65L supercharger, larger fuel injectors, and a high-flow induction system — all benefitting from various performance-boosting calibration modifications designed in-house by HPE.
The Hennessey Performance Engineering MAMMOTH 1000 TRX Overland Edition is available now, with the upgrade kit costing $19,950 — and not including the price of the $150,000 MAMMOTH 1000 TRX donor. The Overland Edition kit is also available on HPE’s MAMMOTH 900 model. As per usual, the price of this kit includes professional installation from HPE and a three-year warranty.
