After two decades of crafting precision titanium gear, the Delaware-based Titaner has turned its attention to one of EDC’s most overlooked workhorses: the humble carabiner.

A Classic Gets the Titanium Treatment
Carabiners haven’t changed much since German climber Otto Herzog adapted rifle clips for mountaineering in the early 20th century. Same oblong body, same spring-loaded gate, same occasional tendency to accidentally release your keys when you least expect it. Titaner’s Titanium Belt Keychain keeps the familiar form but completely rethinks the function with a two-stage locking mechanism that requires deliberate action to open.
The process is intuitive once you get the hang of it. You simply slide the gate inward toward the body, then flip it open. Release, and gravity plus built-in magnets snap it back into position. Titaner calls this their “Effortless Gravity Lock,” and it’s the kind of engineering that makes you wonder why nobody thought of it sooner.

Built Like the Titanium Tank It Is
CNC-machined from grade 5 titanium, this thing weighs just 0.95oz but, like most titanium, should still feel substantial in your hand. The material choice here isn’t just about weight savings, since titanium’s biocompatibility means it’s completely non-toxic and skin-friendly, plus it’ll develop that distinctive patina over years of use without any corrosion concerns.
The 40mm spacing accommodates a wide-range of belt sizes from thin tactical webbing to thick leather belts. Meanwhile, the separate key ring on the gate itself eliminates the usual fumbling with traditional carabiner loading. At 2.79″ long, it’s roughly the size of a house key but infinitely more secure.
Construction quality aligns with Titaner’s “heirloom goods” philosophy. Every edge has been rounded and polished smooth, making sure that it doesn’t snag on fabric or scratch your skin. The company’s internal testing criteria apparently includes surviving a “zombie apocalypse,” which seems appropriately thorough for something designed to guard your keys for the next century.
