Stanley just can’t seem to shake its viral status. From its pandemic-era 40oz Tumblers to its Wicked collab, the Washington-based company seems to get more TikTok views than most other century-old brands out there. And now, Stanley has done it yet again, debuting its first-ever bag, the Macro Method Tote. It’s part of their new Vitalize collection, focused on wellness and proving Stanley just can’t stop evolving.

A Century in the Making

William Stanley Jr. filed his first vacuum bottle patent in 1913, and the brand spent the better part of the next century as the go-to for hard hats and hunters, the blue-collar backbone of American thermos culture. Bags were never part of the equation. But after PMI acquired the brand in 2002 and the Quencher revival turned a near-discontinued tumbler into a $750 million dollar phenomenon, Stanley started thinking bigger. The All Day soft coolers were the first sign the brand was getting comfortable outside the drinkware aisle. But the Macro Method Tote is one a whole new level.

Built Around the Cup (But Not Only for the Cup)

The obvious headline here is the Tumbler Securing Belt and Pocket, which are dual external holsters engineered to wrangle a 40oz Quencher ProTour or the new Vitalize Shaker, hands-free. Stanley knows why you’re buying this bag, and they’re not pretending otherwise. But the tote does a solid job of justifying itself beyond that. A zippered main compartment fits a jacket or change of clothes, an interior laptop sleeve pushes this into commuter territory, and the expandable zippered bottom compartment is one of the smarter details here, opening upward to accommodate meal prep containers, shoes, or post-workout gear you’d want to keep separate. Front zip pocket handles the phone, keys, and wallet.

At 27.6 quarts (26.1L), the capacity hits a comfortable middle ground, with more room than you’d get from a minimalist gym tote, but not so cavernous that it loses its shape when it’s only partially filled. The construction boasts 100% recycled fabric, which tracks with Stanley’s broader sustainability push (65% of all materials across their 2024 product lineup were recycled content). It’s worth noting that this is a lifestyle-leaning bag, designed to bridge the gap between workout duffel and commuter bag.

The Rest of the Vitalize Family

The Macro Method Tote doesn’t arrive alone. Rounding out the Vitalize collection are the $110 Vitalize Backpack with laptop sleeve, the $65 Vitalize Crossbody Bag with padded strap, and the $35 Vitalize Carry-All. There’s also a Vitalize Shaker Bottle for protein shakes, reminiscent of Yeti’s Yonder from last year. All of it shares the same recycled fabric construction and the tumbler-friendly pocket system that ties everything back to Stanley’s core.
