Most knife collaborations play it safe. But Shinola’s latest entry in a series of knife brand collabs takes a different approach, this time with GiantMouse’s popular Bleecker folder. Both companies lean into what they do best. GiantMouse brought their reputation for refined Danish design and Italian manufacturing, while Shinola contributed the decorative finishing techniques from their watchmaking expertise. The result is a pocket knife with a unique look that actually behaves differently over time, developing character through daily use in ways traditional metals won’t do.

Manhattan Meets Motor City
The Bleecker first appeared in GiantMouse’s ACE lineup over a year ago, named after Manhattan’s historic Bleecker Street and its bohemian legacy. It’s been a standout gentleman’s folder during that time, bringing an urban edge to Scandinavian design principles. And now it looks better than ever.
For this Shinola collaboration, the knife retains all those fundamentals — the 3.26-inch trailing-point blade, the slim 4.14-inch handle, the ambidextrous thumb hole deployment — but swaps in materials and finishes that transform its character entirely.
The most obvious change is the brass handle. Where previous Bleeckers featured titanium or carbon fiber, this version opts for warm, gleaming brass finished with a perlage pattern. Watch enthusiass will recognize perlage as the decorative circular graining technique used on high-end movements. Shinola launched over a decade ago as a watchmaker, built off of the ashes from the old shoe polish brand.

Built to Last, Built to Age
Brass requires more maintenance than titanium, sure. But as you know, it also develops its own patina over time, tracking your daily carry journey in oxidation and wear patterns. You can polish it back to brilliance if you prefer, or let it age gracefully — either way, you’re getting an heirloom-quality blade that becomes uniquely yours.
The blade itself is a premium Böhler M390 super steel that gives you edge retention and corrosion resistance. It’s directly comparable to the MagnaCut steel found on other Bleecker variants. The trailing-point profile and spine jimping give you precision control, while the liner lock keeps it secure. The reversible wire pocket clip allows for tip-up or tip-down carry depending on your preference.
