Forcing someone to find a more popular sneaker than the Salomon XT-6 right now would be a pretty tall task, as the shoe has appeared virtually everywhere, be it on trails or city streets. And while they first hit shelves in 2013, the design became an overnight classic in recent years thanks to constant collaborations, now giving the French shoemaker all the more reason to blow out the candles. Garnering inspiration from the shoe’s original prototypes, Salomon is churning out a relatively new spin on its famous lifestyle sneakers with the XT-6 ’10 Years’ colorway.
With help from the original designer, Benjamin Grenet, the brand implemented each technical element we’ve grown used to seeing in its striking Sportstyle silhouette, including an Agile Chassis System, rugged Contagrip outsole, and sturdy Quicklime fit system. In adherence to the occasion, the exclusive pair features a Salomon Lab Prototype tag. In case you couldn’t tell, all of these bits and pieces are coated in a mesmerizing shade of crimson red that is too striking to ignore.
With the performance brand paying homage to the silhouette’s 10th anniversary, it’s unveiled several iterations to celebrate the occasion, including the Re-Cut pack, which consisted of the three most sought-after colorways that have come about through its ten-year tenure. But if you thought those examples were already hard to get your hands on, it’s safe to say this forthcoming release won’t be any easier.
Salomon’s XT-6 ’10 Years’ is limited to a mere 804 pairs, each of which is individually numbered, packaged in a celebratory box, and equipped with a drawstring bag and set of branded red socks — that’s how you know this is a special occasion. While no price details have been revealed, the new kicks will be available on the brand’s webshop on March 28.
