The brand that helped innovate and reinvent technical travel gear, Matador is constantly improving its range of impressively rugged backpacks. For its latest bag, the Colorado-based company upgrades the already-light Beast28 with an even lighter material.
Swapping out the typical Robic nylon with a 70D UHMWPE-reinforced Robic nylon, the Beast Helium 28L Backpack sheds around 2oz in overall weight while maintaining the same 28L volume. Coated in both UTS and PU, the waterproof bag is also prepped for all-weather travel and adds 30% more strength compared to standard PU coating.
Built with an array of features for comfort and stability, the bag comes with an adjustable sternum strap, a removable hip belt with YKK zippered pockets, and an internal suspension system that adapts to your body’s movement without losing any support. Made for attaching gear to the outside, the exterior sports Hypalon-reinforced daisy chains and gear loops. Meanwhile, the EVA foam-padded dual-compartment design comes with an additional sleeve to accommodate a hydration pack.
