Knives have existed for centuries, making it exceedingly difficult for designers and companies to deliver genuinely novel takes on the segment. Though the folks over at Kizer Cutlery have managed to do exactly that with the all-new Rhino folding EDC knife.
Originally known as the “Audaz” in its prototyping and development stage, the new Rhino sports a stonewashed Wharncliffe blade that’s crafted from top-shelf S35VN stainless steel and mated to a pair of titanium handles. What separates the Rhino from other folding knives on the market is its wildly unique deployment system, which sees the titanium scales flip up to reveal the blade. A magnetic coupling system also allows the two independently-moving handle slabs to effortlessly reconnect. Sporting a myriad of blue-anodized accents on both the interior and exterior of the scales, the Rhino also features a matching machined titanium tip-up pocket clip. And if Kizer’s previous knives are anything to go off of, we expect the Rhino to boast top-notch quality, construction, and attention to detail, without costing an arm and a leg.
Kizer has yet to release information on pricing or exact specs, though we do know the Rhino will be carried on BladeHQ, which allows interested parties to sign up for updates regarding the knife’s release.
