Everyday Carry: Cocoa

From a stylistic standpoint, the color brown (and all its permutations) is a bit underutilized, underrepresented, and undervalued — at least in the everyday carry community. Sure, we’re the first to say that everything looks better in black, but that doesn’t mean we don’t delve into other color palettes. After all, variety is the spice of life, as they say. Especially if you’re interested in heritage-level gear or you like natural materials, like leather, you may feel drawn to the different earthen shades. Not to mention, it can pair beautifully with other, more modern gear finished in silver or chrome, as well as blue and even black (pairing black and brown is no longer as taboo as it once was). The bigger point, perhaps, is that your EDC does not have to fit typical standards in order to be handsome and useful. To illustrate and prove that point, this week’s everyday carry pocket dump was built around cocoa brown colorways with silver highlights.

The Wander Club Wanderchain

Technically, The Wander Club’s USA-made Wanderchain was developed as a means of collecting engraved tokens — marking the placed to which you’ve traveled — but we almost like it better as an EDC keychain alternative. From its beautiful leather strap to the easy-access clip and brass hardware, this has all the hallmarks of everyday carry greatness and could easily hold a complement of keys and EDC keychain accessories. Whichever purpose you need it to serve, it definitely won’t let you down.
