Though the brand built its image and reputation on the strength of its men’s wardrobe basics, Deus Ex Machina has more recently begun tapping into more specialized sectors within the clothing realm. Case in point, DxMs all-new Powdertools Alternative Snowcraft Collection, a new line of stylish ski and snowboard garments launched just in time for winter.
In addition to sporting more than half-a-dozen completely novel jackets, several sweatshirts, and shirts — almost all of which are offered in numerous color options — the Deus Powdertools Collection also includes a pair of retro-inspired snowboard models along with a custom binding collab. Designed to spec by Deus-sponsored rider Yusuke Toyoma, the first of the two boards has been dubbed the Tizona 2.0 — a 63.77″ big mountain powder board with a pointed, kicked-up 3D nose design — with a 2.36″ height — that bolsters floatation in deep powder. Known as the Stubby, the second of the two vintage-inspired snowboards sports a markedly shorter and wider design – albeit with the same pointed nose with a 2.36″ height — with a 58.66″ length and a nose, waist, and tail width of 13″, 10.94″, and 11.96″, respectively. Finished beneath a polyurethane coating, both the Tizona 2.0 and the Stubby are crafted from a combination of P-TEX4000 graphite, poplar, bamboo, carbon fiber, and triaxial fiberglass. Both boards also come cloaked in blacked-out color schemes with Deus’ classic Shield Logo. Rounding out the collection is a custom, limited-edition pair of Transfer Series SR bindings born out of a collaboration between Deus and Flux — a well-respected bindings brand that dates back to 1993.
Available now in extremely limited numbers, the Deus Ex Machina Powdertools Alternative Snowcraft Collection is priced at $750 for the Stubby board, $1,000 for the Tizona 2.0 board, and $295 for the Flux x Deus binding. Additionally, the jackets, sweatshirts, and shirts from the collection are priced between $60 and $320.
