Originally taking the form of a medical IV bag stuffed in a tube sock and pinned to the back of a jersey before later being prototyped into the form we know today, CamelBak hydration packs have been on the market for over 30 years, during which time the NorCal company has produced an enormous number of different models and variations. The outfit’s latest model range, however, marks the most sustainable hydration pack that it’s ever made with the all-new CamelBak Adventure Travel Pack — or A.T.P. — lineup.
Offered in 20-liter and 26-liter sizes, the CamelBak A.T.P. hydration packs are crafted around a lightweight yet rugged 210-denier CORDURA re/cor RN66 nylons shell that’s not only derived from 100% recycled content — including up-cycled car airbags — but also emit 50% less greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional nylon manufacturing processes. This main construction has been paired with recycled Nylex pocket liners, 50% recycled EVA foam padding, and 100% recycled nylon webbing. These new models’ sustainability is further amplified through the use of un-dyed colorways that leave the recycled constructions’ natural hue on display.
Sporting a front-loading design, both A.T.P. models feature a full-zip clamshell layout that provides unobstructed access to the packs’ main compartments. The packs’ main cavity has also been supplemented via an oversized side pocket with an internal alloy key clip. CamelBak has also looked to more premium hiking and travel bags when designing its Adventure Travel Pack models, opting to bestow these new items with a myriad of thoughtful, technical details such as deployable compression straps, a removable laptop sleeve, top-shelf Hypalon lashing points, and hardware made from recycled aluminum.
Available exclusively through the manufacturer’s website, the CamelBak Adventure Travel Pack range is available now, with pricing set at $160 for the A.T.P 20 and $180 for the A.T.P 26.
